Version: FL-INTERVIEW-2.0
Effective date: September 2026
This agreement applies to a free interview submitted for publication on featuredleaders.com. It explains the permissions needed to receive, prepare, edit and publish that interview.
Your Featured Leaders interview is free. You do not need to purchase anything or agree to receive commercial offers in order to submit an interview.
This agreement covers both a free interview offered directly and a free second interview arranged following a separate package purchase. The Featured Leaders interview carries no separate interview-publication fee. Any package commitment to arrange or provide it remains governed by the accepted package agreement; this agreement does not waive that commitment or its remedies.
Optional marketing and other paid services are separate choices. This agreement does not authorise them.
1. Parties and submission
Contact: contact@featuredleaders.com
“You” means the named interviewee, acting personally or through an authorised representative. If an authorised representative submits the interview, the representative also makes the confirmations concerning their authority set out in this agreement.
A company or organisation mentioned in an interview does not become a party to this agreement merely because it is named in the submission.
The submission record associated with your acceptance identifies the interviewee, the person submitting or accepting the agreement, their stated capacity, relevant contact information, the company or organisation where applicable, and the interview answers and uploaded files associated with that submission.
For the purposes of this agreement, “Submitted Materials” means the interview answers, biographical and professional information, company information, photographs or featured images, company logos, website and professional-profile links, and any other materials that you submit specifically for this Featured Leaders interview, together with corrections or replacement materials you subsequently provide for the same interview.
Submitted Materials do not include unrelated works or materials that you may create in the future.
2. Your authority and responsibilities
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have authority to enter into this agreement.
If you are submitting the interview on behalf of another person, you confirm that:
- you are authorised by that person to submit the interview;
- you are authorised to accept this agreement on their behalf;
- you are authorised to give the publication permission described in this agreement on their behalf; and
- the interviewee has approved the information and materials being submitted for publication.
Being an employee, colleague, assistant, agency, PR representative or similar representative does not by itself establish that authority.
We may ask for confirmation of your authority or direct confirmation from the interviewee before publication. If sufficient authority cannot reasonably be established, we may decline or pause publication.
You also confirm that, to the best of your knowledge:
- you own the rights necessary to submit the Submitted Materials or have obtained permission from the relevant rights holders for the uses described in this agreement;
- you are authorised to provide any company name, company information, logo or trade mark included in the submission for this interview;
- any identifiable person appearing in a submitted photograph has given any permission required for the proposed publication;
- factual information submitted for publication is accurate;
- the Submitted Materials do not unlawfully infringe another person’s copyright, privacy, confidentiality, trade mark or other rights; and
- publication of the Submitted Materials as described here does not breach an obligation owed to another person or organisation.
Photographs and images
Being the person shown in a photograph does not necessarily mean that you own the copyright in that photograph.
If another person, photographer, studio, employer, agency or organisation owns rights in an image, you must have permission sufficient for the publication and editing described in this agreement.
Please provide any required photographer credit, usage restriction or other relevant information when submitting the image.
If an image licence is limited by time, territory or permitted use, tell us before publication so that we can determine whether it is compatible with this agreement.
If appropriate permission cannot be confirmed, we may ask you to provide a replacement image.
A link to a company website, social-media profile or other webpage does not by itself give us permission to copy photographs, logos or other protected material from that page.
Please do not submit confidential information, unnecessary sensitive personal information, private information about another person, or material that you are not authorised to make public.
3. Free interview and editorial decision
There is no charge for the Featured Leaders interview under this agreement. A directly offered free interview requires no purchase.
A directly offered free interview is subject to editorial acceptance and does not guarantee publication. If publication or another deliverable has already been promised under a separate package agreement, the general editorial provisions here do not cancel that promise or the participant’s applicable remedies.
We may decline, postpone or request changes to a submission where, for example, material is incomplete, technically unusable, outside the intended scope of Featured Leaders, materially inaccurate or misleading, potentially unlawful, subject to unresolved rights or permission issues, or unsuitable for publication for legitimate editorial reasons.
If we publish the interview, we intend to keep it publicly available without a routine expiry date or renewal charge.
However, we do not promise that any particular article or the Featured Leaders website will remain online permanently. Continued availability is subject to applicable rights, valid removal requests, legal requirements, technical circumstances and the continued operation of the website.
Declining an optional commercial offer or withdrawing marketing consent will not, by itself, affect the free Featured Leaders interview.
4. Ownership and licence for the free interview
You and any relevant third-party rights holders retain ownership of the Submitted Materials.
You grant Featured Leaders a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use the Submitted Materials only for the free Featured Leaders interview and the directly associated Featured Leaders uses described below.
The worldwide scope reflects the fact that a public website may be accessed internationally. It does not expand the purpose of the licence.
You expressly authorise us to:
- receive, copy, store, back up and technically process the Submitted Materials as necessary to manage the interview submission;
- prepare, edit, format, host and publish the interview and associated media on featuredleaders.com;
- make the published interview publicly accessible online, including where the publication constitutes the first publication of submitted material;
- make the editorial and technical changes described in section 5;
- select and display accurate quotations or short excerpts from the interview;
- display the interviewee’s name, professional information, company information, supplied public links, photograph or featured image, and company logo in connection with the published interview;
- use those elements on the Featured Leaders homepage, interview listings, categories, internal search results, related-content areas and article previews where they identify or link to the interview; and
- use relevant Submitted Materials in communications reasonably necessary to prepare the interview, request clarification, confirm publication, or handle corrections or rights requests.
Service providers working on our behalf may perform the technical copying, storage, hosting, processing or rendering necessary to provide these services.
This does not give those providers an independent right to publish, sell or commercially exploit your Submitted Materials.
The licence begins when you accept this agreement and continues for as long as the permitted publication and associated administration continue, subject to the withdrawal and removal provisions below and any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
No author fee or other compensation is agreed for the uses authorised by this agreement. This does not exclude any statutory remuneration or other right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of your company name, logo or trade marks to Featured Leaders.
Permission to display a company logo is limited to the interview and directly associated Featured Leaders presentation described here. It does not imply an endorsement of Featured Leaders or any unrelated product or service.
5. Editing, presentation and AI-assisted editorial tools
You authorise us to make reasonable editorial and technical changes necessary to prepare the interview for publication.
These may include:
- correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation;
- improving readability;
- removing repetition;
- shortening or rearranging answers;
- formatting paragraphs and quotations;
- selecting accurate quotations from your answers;
- adding a title, introduction, headings, summary or similar editorial elements based on the Submitted Materials;
- resizing, cropping, compressing or adjusting the layout of submitted images; and
- making other technical changes required for display on the website.
We will not intentionally fabricate statements or quotations, materially alter the meaning of your answers, falsely attribute statements to you, or materially misrepresent the person or subject shown in an image.
Routine editorial changes within this scope do not require a separate proof-approval process.
If a proposed change would materially alter the meaning of a statement attributed to you, we will seek confirmation before publishing that change or omit it.
We may use automated or AI-assisted tools as part of editorial preparation, formatting, language improvement, summarisation or similar production tasks, with human editorial review before publication.
This permission does not authorise us to use your Submitted Materials to create a synthetic version of your voice or likeness, fabricate statements from you, or intentionally submit your materials for general-purpose AI model training.
Where legally required, authorship, photographer or other appropriate credits will be respected.
Nothing in this agreement transfers or waives moral rights or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
6. Optional marketing and future paid services are separate
Accepting this agreement does not:
- subscribe you to a newsletter;
- opt you into sales or promotional emails;
- authorise a personalised commercial package preview;
- place an order;
- authorise publication on Leaders Thoughts;
- authorise a separate Leaders Perception publication;
- purchase any service; or
- authorise unrelated advertising or commercial reuse of your materials.
If you separately choose to receive a personalised commercial offer, that choice is governed by a separate optional marketing consent.
That separate consent may allow us to use specified interview information and materials to prepare a personalised offer or preview and to contact you about that offer.
You may decline that consent without affecting consideration or publication of your free Featured Leaders interview.
If you later purchase a package or other service, the applicable order or service terms will separately identify the deliverables, publication destinations and additional permissions involved.
This agreement alone does not authorise those future publications or paid uses.
Administrative communications concerning your interview—for example clarification questions, publication notification, correction requests or rights requests—are not treated as marketing simply because they are sent by email.
7. Publication consent for personal information and likeness
This section concerns publication of personal information and your image and is separate from the copyright licence above.
You consent to Featured Leaders using and publicly displaying the personal information and publication material that you submit for the purpose of preparing and publishing your free Featured Leaders interview.
Depending on your submission, this may include:
- your name;
- job title and professional information;
- biography;
- company name and company information;
- website and professional-profile links supplied for publication;
- interview answers and quotations;
- photograph or featured image; and
- supplied company logo.
These elements may also appear in the limited Featured Leaders interview listings, internal search results, excerpts and article previews described in section 4.
You understand that information published on a public website can be accessed internationally, indexed by search engines, linked to, shared or copied by third parties.
Your submission email address, optional private telephone number, country-of-residence form field, representative’s private contact details and acceptance records are not authorised for publication as article fields merely because they were collected through the submission process.
Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information is collected, processed, stored and otherwise handled, the applicable legal bases, recipient categories, retention practices and your privacy rights.
The Privacy Notice is separate from this agreement and is not a blanket consent to unrelated processing.
8. Limits of the permissions you give us
Unless you separately authorise it or another lawful basis applies, this agreement does not permit Featured Leaders to:
- sell your Submitted Materials as standalone content;
- grant unrelated third parties independent publishing rights in your Submitted Materials;
- publish your free interview as a separate article on another Leaders website;
- present you as endorsing an unrelated product or service;
- use your materials in an unrelated advertising campaign;
- create unrelated commercial products from your photograph, logo or interview answers;
- send newsletters or unrelated marketing communications; or
- use this agreement as permission for an unrelated paid package or additional publication.
Additional uses outside the scope described here require the relevant separate permission, agreement or other lawful basis.
9. Corrections, withdrawal and removal
You may contact contact@featuredleaders.com, including by replying to the interview correspondence, to request a factual correction, replacement image, withdrawal of publication consent, or removal of material.
Please identify the relevant interview or submission so that we can locate it. You may withdraw publication consent in whole or for an identifiable item, such as a photograph. Withdrawal is free and does not require a reason. If the remaining interview cannot fairly be maintained without the affected material, we may remove the interview.
We may reasonably verify your identity or, where a representative is making the request, their authority to act.
If publication consent is withdrawn before publication, we will not publish the interview on the basis of that consent.
If valid publication consent is withdrawn after publication, we will stop the processing based on that consent and address removal or amendment of material under our control without undue delay, subject to any specific lawful exception that applies and that we can explain where required.
Withdrawal does not retrospectively make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
Withdrawing marketing consent only does not withdraw your separate publication consent.
We will not rely on the copyright licence in this agreement for the purpose of defeating a valid statutory privacy request concerning the same publication.
Where removal is required, the publication licence ends to the extent necessary to give effect to that removal, except for limited non-public copies that may lawfully need to be retained for legal obligations, establishment or defence of legal claims, record integrity or ordinary backup deletion cycles.
We may independently correct, restrict, suspend or remove material where reasonably necessary because of:
- a credible rights complaint;
- unlawful content;
- materially inaccurate or misleading content;
- insufficient authority or permissions;
- a binding legal requirement;
- significant security or technical problems; or
- closure or restructuring of the website.
Where reasonably possible, we will explain a material correction or removal to the affected participant.
Removing material from Featured Leaders does not necessarily remove independent copies previously created by search engines, archives or other third parties.
This does not limit any legal steps we are required to take in response to a valid request.
Withdrawal of this permission does not automatically withdraw a separate Leaders Perception or Leaders Thoughts permission or determine the cancellation or refund consequences of an existing package. Those matters remain subject to the relevant agreement and mandatory rights. We will not impose a fee for exercising the statutory right to withdraw consent.
10. Electronic acceptance and records
This agreement is provided electronically.
Before accepting it, you should have an opportunity to read it and access or save the applicable version.
By actively selecting the required acceptance control in the interview submission process and submitting the form, you indicate your intention to accept this agreement electronically for the identified interview submission.
The agreement takes effect when your acceptance associated with that submission is received, subject to any mandatory formalities. If a different written approval process is expressly offered, its record must identify this agreement, the person accepting, their authority and the relevant materials. Silence, opening a link or visiting this page does not constitute acceptance. A qualified electronic signature or other appropriate formal approval may be requested where needed for the particular rights involved.
We may retain evidence of the acceptance, including:
- the agreement version and effective date;
- the relevant submission reference;
- the identity and email address supplied by the person accepting;
- whether that person identified themselves as the interviewee or an authorised representative;
- the date and time of acceptance;
- the acceptance choice recorded in the form;
- the interview submission associated with the acceptance;
- the files or materials associated with that submission; and
- technical records reasonably necessary to establish or protect the integrity of the acceptance process.
Where an interview is submitted through a representative, publication may remain pending until any additional authority verification we reasonably require has been completed.
A later revision of this agreement does not automatically expand the permissions given for an earlier submission.
If a material new use requires additional permission, we will obtain the appropriate new agreement or consent.
11. Privacy
Personal information connected with the interview submission and this agreement is handled as described in the Featured Leaders Privacy Notice.
The Privacy Notice should be read before submitting the interview.
Questions or requests concerning personal information may be sent to:
contact@featuredleaders.com
12. Applicable rights
Nothing in this agreement removes mandatory rights or protections that apply under applicable law, including any mandatory rights that may apply to a participant in another jurisdiction.
Nothing prevents a person from exercising a statutory right to contact a competent data-protection authority, other regulator or competent court.
If one provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent they can lawfully operate independently.
